Spiritual Walk

Peace-Now

Everyone of us goes through the shaking and refining process. And in such times, it is quite hard to find peace in the midst of the storm.

One of my favorite stories in the Bible was when Jesus calmed the storm. It didn’t only speak of the disciples’ lack of faith (which can happen to us when storms come in our lives), but it also talks about Jesus’ sovereignty. The disciples wondered how Jesus could sleep while everyone else in the boat were in a state of turmoil.

Sometimes, we are like these disciples who claim that they believe in the power of the Almighty One..who have seen first-hand how Jesus perfomed a lot of miracles, yet doubted in His power when the storm came.

There were times when God seems to be silent during the times when we are in turmoil. These are the times when our faith is being tested. Yes, may be hard to find peace when we are facing seemingly impossible situations. But, let us not forget that our God is sovereign and that He is always in control.. with Him, all things are possible!

At the end of the story in Mark 4:39, it says “Then He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

True peace can only be found when we anchor our faith in Jesus, The One who is IN CONTROL of everything.
