Utmost Goal 2016

Welcome 2016! It’s another awesome year that we are looking forward to! A new year is always associated with a new beginning. It is a time when people are so eager to make an improvement in their lives by leaving old habits in the past year and creating good ones as the new year starts to unfold.

Making a ‘New year’s resolution’, as the majority likes to call it, has been one of the most popular traditions or beliefs that many of us practice. In my case, I label them as breakthroughs to believe in and act upon in the coming year.

As I was making my own list, I chanced upon a video on YouTube that talks about how the world would change in the coming years. It is truly evident that the world continues to change as time goes by. The news about global warming, political chaos, and terrorist attacks here and there are some clues that led me to the thing that should be on top of my list.

I believe that the greatest thing we can pray for this year is to have an unshakable faith that will help us endure and withstand the signs of the times. You see, wars are erupting everywhere. Endless killings and bombings are taking away the peace in the world.

I am sharing this blogpost to appeal to everyone to take on the role that is rightfully ours and to act on the mission that has been assigned to us. As true children of God, we should fulfill our responsibility by boldly sharing what the bible says-the truth. We should do it without making any embellishments just for it to look good and appealing to the world. Yes, the bible talks about God’s love, but let us not neglect God’s wrath that will come upon those who don’t put their hope in Him and obey His commands. Let us always remember that repentance is always necessary in one’s walk with the Lord.

While we pray for breakthroughs for our personal lives, we must also pray for breakthroughs that will create an impact to the whole world. Let us include in our ‘resolutions’ or faith goals, for us to be an active ambassador of Christ. Likewise, let us pray that we would be used as an instrument to increase people’s awareness of the great battle happening in the spiritual realm that could affect the path we would be taking in eternity.

Let us all be watchful and shift our focus on investing on the things that are eternal rather than those that are temporary.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

We are all given free will. Let us use it wisely. 🙂

I pray that you would all have a year full of breakthroughs as you grow deeper in the Lord each and everyday. Have a happy and Spirit-filled 2016! 🙂
