Worldly Ambition vs. God’s Call (Reflections on Timothy’s Life)

Career/Riches/Fame/Temporary Happiness vs. True Riches and Happiness in Pursuing One’s Calling in God’s Kingdom

Cried a bucket of tears while watching the film. I felt that God was speaking to me through this film. For those youth who are in their prime, praying and thinking of the next step they are to take in life, consider what will matter 10 years from now.. achieving your worldly goals or pursuing your Spiritual goals? Choose what will feed your Spirit..and what will lead your loved ones to a life of safety both here and in eternity.

“But godliness without contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” 1 Timothy 6:6

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in WEALTH WHICH IS SO UNCERTAIN but to PUT THEIR HOPE IN GOD, WHO RICHLY PROVIDES US WITH EVERYTHING FOR OUR ENJOYMENT. Command them to DO GOOD, to BE RICH IN GOOD DEEDS, and to be GENEROUS and WILLING TO SHARE. In this way they will lay up treasure in for themselves as a FIRM FOUNDATION for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the LIFE THAT IS TRULY LIFE.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Some of us may find their calling in their respective careers. But some are called to give up their careers to respond to their God-given calling.

Wherever God has placed you, always remember to put His Kingdom first above all. For it is in pursuing the King of the Kingdom that we will find a treasure that can never be stolen. A treasure that is ours to keep forever.

The life of Timothy is a life full of inspiration and a life that is worthy of emulation.
